GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The first day of October won’t feel like it around West Michigan, with high temperatures pushing to near 80° in many places Tuesday afternoon.

The tricky part of the forecast comes through the morning into midday, as low clouds and fog were trying to develop and spread northward early Tuesday.  Those clouds may hang around through midday before breaking up more in the afternoon once again.  However, those clouds may not affect all areas of West Michigan.

A weak cold front will slip through the region Tuesday night into Wednesday, allowing winds to shift and diminish a bit.  However, the front won’t bring any real rain chances yet, and temperatures will make it back into the mid 70s for Wednesday and Thursday.

Rain showers will likely develop Thursday, with chances of heavier rain and thunderstorms increasing into the start of the weekend.  A cold front on Saturday will bring the greatest threat for rain and storms, as well as ushering in much cooler air for next week.
