GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – A parole absconder arrested during a police standoff in Grand Rapids earlier this month is now facing federal gun charges linked to pictures he had posted on his Facebook account.

A federal complaint filed in U.S. District Court show Hollis Clifton Nunnery was identified as a person of interest in three different bank robberies that occurred in the Grand Rapids area from July through September 2013.  He was also identified as a possible suspect in an armed robbery of a business in Grand Rapids on September 17th.

During the course of the investigation, a FBI detective was able to find photos of Nunnery on a Facebook account showing him holding a large framed black handgun with a laser sight, another black colored handgun and a pistol gripped shotgun.

Detectives were able to determine Nunnery might be staying at a home in the 700 block of Prince Street SE in Grand Rapids, which led to a Special Response Team response on October 1st.  Nunnery was taken into custody during a standoff situation where investigators say he attempted to flee when officers first arrived.

A search of the home led investigators to 3 firearms, which an ATF Task Force Officer was able to determine matched the weapons seen in the Facebook photos.

Nunnery is now facing Felony Firearms charges related to this arrest following previous felony convictions in 2007.  Nunnery was 18 at the time when he was shot and wounded by police officers following a chase during a drug investigation in Grand Rapids.  That shooting investigation later revealed Nunnery was armed and pulled a gun on responding officers leading up to the officer involved shooting in the Black Hills Neighborhood.
