GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —  Who doesn’t like to catch a break and find a good bargain these days?

As FOX 17’s “Smart Shopper,” I will scour West Michigan to find you everything from amazing thrift stores and awesome grocery savings to ways to score major discounts on things like household appliances, tickets to events, and other necessities. Not to mention, she’ll pass along information on snagging free goodies and free programs., too.

Just in time for Halloween, the first “Smart Shopper” challenge to stretch $20 on snacks for your parties or gatherings. I went off to one of my favorite places to buy groceries, Aldi. This discount retailer is not hard to find these days, with locations from Grand Rapids and Muskegon all the way to Mt. Pleasant and now Big Rapids. However, a couple of the items I needed were found at decent prices at Meijer and Family Dollar.

After browsing the Internet, I found six Halloween themed treats that I thought would not only leave you giggling but not break the bank. I have listed below the items I made, along with how much they cost. Just by simply clicking on the bold title, you can get the recipes, too.

Have a Happy Halloween everyone, and make sure to send your ideas to smartshopper@fox17online.com and follow me on Twitter. Not to mention, you can always reach out to me on Facebook.
