112413snowfcstWEST MICHIGAN — Lake effect snow showers will start to come to an end this morning although a few stray snow flurries will stick around for Sunday afternoon. Little to no accumulation is expected today in inland areas however better chances for accumulating snow will occur as we head into the beginning of the new work week.

Temperatures will stay cool Sunday afternoon as high temperatures warm into the low to mid 20’s. Winds will eventually move westerly throughout the afternoon and gust to around 10 to 15 miles per hour. When you factor in winds, feel-like temperatures in the teens will once again make for a frigid afternoon. Skies will start to eventually clear this evening allowing for actual temperatures to drop steadily throughout the evening. Overnight lows will likely fall into the teens for many areas.

Clouds will be on the increase Monday morning as our next system drops out of Canada and into West Michigan. Snow will move in from the north in the afternoon and continue through early evening. Heaviest snow will likely be north of I-96 with the least amount of snow near the Indiana border. Total accumulations will likely be between 2 and 4 inches along and north of I-96 and less than 2 inches along and south of I-94.

Lake effect snow showers will continue on Tuesday likely adding up to a half-inch of fresh snow along and west of US-131. Dry and cold conditions return to West Michigan as we head into the busy Holiday travel period.
