Serious Crash Closes Westbound 28th Street For Over 3 Hours

WyomingWYOMING, Mich- One person has been taken to the hospital after a serious crash on 28th Street in Wyoming.

According to Wyoming Police officers on the scene, a semi-truck was travelling westbound on 28th Street passing through the intersection with Division St. when the car allegedly ran the red light and slammed into the semi truck. The crash caused the car to become wedged underneath the semi truck, and the driver had to be extracted from the car.

The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

Westbound 28th street at Division St. was closed for over 3 hours as police conducted their investigation, it has now reopened. It is unknown if the driver of the car was wearing their seat belt or not.

This crash remains under investigation by the Wyoming Police Department.
