Tasha CharltonGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An inmate on release from jail for a work assignment at the Kent County Animal Shelter is believed to have fled.

Tasha Charlton, 41, is considered a low-risk inmate, which according to officials is why she was allowed to work at the facility.

When she didn’t return more than 30 minutes later, she was reported as a walk away.
