Sandwich Artist or Con Artist? Subway Worker Arrested for Allegedly Staging Robbery

SubwayALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Subway worker in Alpine Township was arrested for allegedly staging an armed robbery at the restaurant with his roommates.

The crime happened Wednesday at the Subway at 5301 Alpine Ave.  The worker called 911 and reported that two men entered the store and demanded money after flashing a revolver.

According to a release from Kent County Sheriff’s Department, they discovered the alleged robbers were the employee’s roommates.  The roommates later confessed to their involvement in the staged robbery.  All three men are in custody.

One man is still wanted in connection with the crime, though it was unclear what his involvement was.

Officials have identified him as 21-year-old Alexander Burks.  The other suspects will be identified pending formal charges.
