Suspect In Newaygo County Robbery Turns Himself In

steven myersFREMONT,Mich. — Steven Myers surrendered himself to the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office on December 4th.  Myers is scheduled to officially be charged in 78th District Court on December 5.

Myers was wanted in connection with an armed robbery.

According to police three men entered the Ashcroft Grocery store, at 10450 S Warner Avenue on December 2.  According to reports the men flashed a semi-automatic handgun at the clerk and demanded cash and cigarettes.

Acting on a tip from a citizen, the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office conducted three search warrants on the evening of December 3 that resulted in the recovery of evidence related to the robbery including the firearm used in the incident.
