KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A fire at the Holiday Motel on South Wetnedge Thursday produced smoke so thick that it closed a ramp to I-94.
According to Kalamazoo police, the eastbound I-94 ramp to South Westnedge was closed for almost an hour Thursday afternoon. It is now reopen, but crews remain at the scene of the fire.
Emergency crews from five different departments responded to the fire: Oshtemo, Portage, Texas Township, Comstock and Kalamazoo City.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
