DETROIT — The Detroit Lions were given a lesson on what it takes to be a playoff team from the defending Super Bowl Champions on Monday Night Football.

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Detroit Lions 18-16 at Ford Field Monday night thanks to a 61-yard field goal by Justin Tucker with 38 seconds left in the game. The 61-yarder was the sixth field goal of the night for Tucker, who scored all of the Ravens points.

The loss drops Detroit to 7-7 overall and third place in the NFC North. The Chicago Bears now sit in first place and control their own destiny in the division race.

Matthew Stafford found Joseph Fauria for a 14-yard score with 2:27 left in the fourth quarter to put the Lions up 16-15. The two-point conversion attempt failed however when Calvin Johnson was unable to haul in a Stafford back-shoulder pass.

Baltimore would go down the field and retake the lead with the Tucker field goal. On the Lions’ ensuing drive, Stafford was picked off for the third time in the game to seal the Ravens victory.
