JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Cedar Springs man was hospitalized after his hand became caught in a farm conveyor Thursday afternoon.

At 1:24 p.m. Thursday, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a farming accident at 988 20th Ave. in Jamestown Township. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Timothy John Patin, 48, of Cedar Springs suffering from severe hand injuries.

Deputies said Patin is a self-employed contractor who repairs conveyors. He was working on a conveyor system inside a farm silo when his right hand got caught in the conveyor, causing severe injuries to Patin’s hand.

He was transported to Zeeland Community Hospital where he was treated and then transferred to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where no condition report was available Thursday night.

The incident remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
