Over 4,000 Consumers Energy Customers Still Without Power In West Michigan

power outages winterWEST MICHIGAN- Consumers Energy says approximately 18,000 customers in Michigan are still without power including over 4,000 customers in Barry and Ionia Counties.

Since noon Saturday, Dec. 21, the storm has caused 409,000 outages, or nearly 23 percent of the utility’s 1.8 million electric customers. It marked the largest Christmas-week storm in the company’s 126-year history and Consumers’ largest ice storm in more than 10 years.

Here are the updated power outage numbers from Consumers Energy by county:

Barry: 3,667
Ionia: 468
Clinton: 1,029
Eaton: 1,076
Genesee: 5,522
Ingham: 1,965
Livingston: 570
Oakland: 687
Shiawassee: 3,076

More than 3,000 field and office employees from Consumers, Michigan-based contractors and workers from 13 states and Washington, D.C., are helping with the storm restorations.
