WEST MICHIGAN- Consumers Energy says approximately 18,000 customers in Michigan are still without power including over 4,000 customers in Barry and Ionia Counties.
Since noon Saturday, Dec. 21, the storm has caused 409,000 outages, or nearly 23 percent of the utility’s 1.8 million electric customers. It marked the largest Christmas-week storm in the company’s 126-year history and Consumers’ largest ice storm in more than 10 years.

More than 3,000 field and office employees from Consumers, Michigan-based contractors and workers from 13 states and Washington, D.C., are helping with the storm restorations.
