EAST LANSING, Mich. – Less than an hour after the Spartans win in the Rose Bowl, a handful of calls for minor fires came into the dispatch center at the the East Lansing Police Department.  FOX 17 was at the scene of a couch burning at the corner of Center and Oak Street near the campus of MSU.

The fire department was quickly able to extinguish all fires quickly, without any injury or damage to structures.  Not a single arrest was made.  East Lansing Police congratulate the Spartans on their Rose Bowl victory.

Crowds packed the bars in East Lansing to be with like-minded fans watching the Spartans cap off the season with a thrilling win against Stanford.

At the Dublin Square Bar in East Lansing, the fans counted down the final seconds much like many people counted down the final seconds of 2013.

Outside the bars however, there were not the droves of fans rushing into the street like the city had seen in the past with big sporting events.  It could have been the frigid temps or the fact that most students were not yet back at school.  The Spring Semester will start on Jan. 6.
