Restaurant Shooting on New Year’s Morning Sends One to Hospital

zen bistro shooting.jpgGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A shooting at a local restaurant sent one man to the hospital early New Year’s Day.

Police say it happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. at ZEN Asian Bistro & Sushi on Burton Street SE.  We’re told someone inside was shot in the leg, but it is unclear what may have led up to the incident.  The victim is expected to be okay.

A security guard reported hearing three gunshots, followed by a rush of people running from the restaurant.

No suspects are in custody at this time.

    I'm sure someone was just celebrating the New Year by firing a gun and someone's leg got in the way.
