GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– FOX 17 is uncovering details about that personal protection order taken out against Teleka Patrick, the Kalamazoo woman who has been missing since December 5, 2013.

Documents reveal the person who issued the PPO against Patrick is Marvin Sapp, the well-known gospel singer and Grand Rapids pastor.

“I’m a national recording artist who [Teleka] has claimed as her husband,” wrote Sapp in the document. He claimed that Patrick moved to Michigan from California, joined his church, contacted his children, and visited his home.

Sapp goes on to claim he has 400 pages of correspondences from Patrick to which he claims he has never replied.

The group Find Teleka issued a statement Wednesday detailing new developments in the case of the missing Kalamazoo doctor. The statement, attributed to her parents Mattahias and Irene Patrick, mentions the personal protection order, which was filed against Teleka prior to her December 2013 disappearance.

Her parents also address newly discovered videos that have called some to question her state of mind.

“Regardless of Teleka’s emotional state, we believe wholeheartedly that she has encountered some harm or danger,” the letter says.

This comes as Teleka’s family has now hired the investigator who has been handling the search for Mary Land.
