011114RAINTOTALSWEST MICHIGAN — Heavy rains Friday overnight and Saturday morning brought some impressive totals across West Michigan. Most areas saw between a quarter of an inch and three quarters of an inch of rain through Saturday morning. Melting combined with heavy rain will likely lead to more issues today with ponding on streets and flooding potential in low-lying areas. Ice jams may also pose problems in some areas as we see melting and refreezing.
Heaviest rain should come to an end as a cold front swings through dropping temperatures throughout the afternoon. Light drizzle will then transition into light snow flurries during the early evening and overnight but will stay light with no accumulations expected.

Temperatures will begin to rise as we head into Sunday, with afternoon high temperatures warming into the upper 30’s and low 40’s. The secondary warm-up will be short-lived as cooler air moves back into the Great Lakes Monday and we being our cooling trend at the beginning of the next work week.
