sheriff-cruiserCHARLOTTE, Mich. — Investigators are asking for public help in finding out who dumped the bodies of three dogs into a bulk trash bin behind a shoe store.

The carcasses were apparently put in the bin behind the Payless Shoe Store on Packard Highway some time between January 8 and January 12, said the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office in a release.

It is believed the animals were already dead, possibly frozen to death, before being put in the bin.

The sheriff’s office provided a description of the animals: one black and tan shepherd mix about 65 pounds with a pink collar; one black short-haired mix breed of about 40 pounds, wearing a pink collar; one black and white border collie type long-haired dog with no collar.
