METAMORA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” film will be partially filmed in Lapeer County.

A Jan. 17 article in the Flint Journal lists the potential filming location on the grounds of a former Girl Scout camp in Metamora Township.

The Flint Journal also cites an interview with Metamora Fire Chief Dave Eady for The County Press in Lapeer County.

“This is a major Hollywood thing. From what I understand, they’re already out there doing stuff,” Eady said. “There’s a beautiful lake back there. They’re building a home for one scene. All they’re doing is one scene there, then they’re going to tear everything down like they were never here.”

No other details about the shoot are available.

The release date on the Zack Snyder-directed super hero project was recently delayed until May 6, 2016.  It was originally slated for release in July 2015.

Ben Affleck will star as Batman and Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman after playing him in the 2013 film “Man of Steel.”

The Michigan film office announced in August that the movie would be filming in “metro Detroit and throughout Michigan.”

The release also said that the movie was awarded an incentive of $35 million on their projected in-state budget of $131 million.
