Public Meeting & Webinar on Asian Carp Prevention Study

Asian carpANN ARBOR, Mich. — One of eight public meetings on keeping Asian carp out of the Great Lakes is took place Tuesday afternoon.

The meetings are being held to take comments on the federal Great Lakes-Mississippi River Interbasin Study (GLIMRIS), which outlines proposals on how to keep the invasive fish species from Michigan’s waterways.  The public can also attend a live webinar of the meeting or connect with live audio feeds.

The report outlines 8 different alternatives to keep the invasive species out of the Great Lakes.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers authored the GLIMRIS report, the findings of which focus on laying groundwork for restoring the natural Great Lakes-Mississippi River basin divide.
