GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Cannon Township Trustee Diane Jones was selected Thursday to fill the seat on the Kent County Board of Commissioners vacated by Gary Rolls.
Rolls resigned effective January 1 after being charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, evidence tampering and using a computer to commit a crime.
The board’s vote choosing Jones was unanimous. Thirteen people had applied for the District Four appointment, with five finalists interviewed last week.
Jones was a Cannon Township trustee from 2004 to 2008 and was elected again in 2012.
