WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) —  Gusty winds will get stronger Thursday, creating issues with blowing and drifting snow, especially as more snow moves in after midday.

Check out this image from our in-house computer model, Future Track. It shows extremely high winds across West Michigan. In some spots, winds could gust to over 50 miles per hour.

In addition to the blowing snow, there will also be falling snow Thursday afternoon and evening. Accumulations should be on the order of 1 to 3 inches.

All of West Michigan is under a winter weather advisory through Thursday night. Snow and blowing snow are the main threats.  The wind will diminish quickly after midnight, with dry conditions for most of the day Friday.
