Raulie Casteel Faces Terrorism Charges For I-96 ShootingsLIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. — Raulie Casteel was found guilty on all counts related to a three-day shooting spree on I-96 in October 2012.

Casteel, 44, of Wixom, was found guilty of terrorism, assault with a dangerous weapon, firing a weapon from a vehicle and three other felony weapons charges, Attorney General Bill Schuette announced Wednesday.

The terrorism conviction is the first in state history secured by the Department of the Attorney General.

“Raulie Casteel committed acts of violence that terrorized our state in unimaginable ways, and today the victims of his shooting spree received justice,” Schuette said.  “Schools changed bus routes, commuters took back roads to and from work, and sports fans feared traveling to weekend games.”

Casteel is responsible for 24 shootings in four Michigan counties along the busy interstate.  He will be sentenced on March 3 and faces up to life in prison.
