NEW YORK (PIX11) – Did “The Simpsons” call the outcome of Super Bowl XLVIII — way back in in 2005?
The official Twitter for the hit show tweeted a supposed screen grab from the episode “Bonfire of the Manatees,” which premiered back in 2005.

It is unclear if this is an actual image from the episode, or if it was just created as a prank leading up to the big game.

“The Simpsons” has strangely “predicted” several world events and pop culture trends since it began in 1989.

One of the most oddly specific examples is an episode where a voting machine changes Homer’s vote for then-candidate Barrack Obama to a vote for John McCain. In the 2012 election, some voting machines malfunctioned, causing some votes to be changed from Obama to Mitt Romney.

Will “The Simpsons” be right again? We’ll just have to wait until Sunday to find out.
