Shots Fired Inside A Home Lead To A Mother And Son Facing Charges

Muskegon Police cruiserMUSKEGON, Mich.- A mother and son are facing charges after shots were fired inside home late Saturday night in Muskegon.

According to the Muskegon Police Department, officers were sent to the 1900 block of Hoyt Street on the reports of shots fired and a home struck by gunfire in the area. When officers arrived on the scene at 1959 Hoyt Street, reports indicated that gunfire erupted from inside the home and people in front of the home. Witnesses on scene said they heard two distinctly different sounding guns.

The people outside the home were last seen fleeing scene heading south towards Muskegon Heights.

There were no injuries reported. Police did find evidence that multiple shots were fired.

Muskegon Police officers found that a teen party was being held inside the resisdence and located evidence of illicit drug use inside the home. A 17-year-old male was detained and has been charged with obstruction and his 38-year-old mother who was inside the home at the time of the incident is also facing charges.
