GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– (February 10, 2004) In an effort to keep Maxine Green’s name and face in the public as much as possible, her family is using soul food to hopefully get some answers as to where she could be.

“I wish I wasn’t in this predicament,” said Pamela Green, when asked how she was doing, nearly six months after her aunt, Maxine Green, was reported missing.

The family is no closer to knowing what happened to Maxine. They held a fundraiser at Ellnora’s Kitchen in Grand Rapids with the hopes of bringing in more tips and donations to help with the search.

Maxine is the sister of famed soul singer, Al Green. She was reported missing August 23rd, 2013 when she didn’t come home. The last reported sighting of her was September 6th at “B and B Party Shoppes” on Leonard Street NW.

Tips into police have led nowhere.

Green said while many people may not know her aunt, it’s still important to have that community support.

“When she came up missing, to me I didn’t have a lot of public support and that can happen to anyone’s family.” explained Green.

“That’s what I wanted them to be aware of. It’s just not me. It can happen to you, tomorrow or any other day and you would want the same support if it was your family.”

All of the money raised from the BBQ and soul food fundraiser will go towards a reward for information. The family hopes to eventually raise $3,000.

Anyone with information regarding Green’s whereabouts is asked to call Grand Rapids police or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
