Teens Arrested in Isabella Co. After Grandmother Assaulted

WISE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Feb. 17, 2014) — Two teens were arrested Sunday after one of them allegedly assaulted their grandmother.

According to Michigan State Police, the teens, ages 15 and 18, got angry at her after she disabled their vehicle and left the keys with a friend.

After a physical confrontation, the juvenile allegedly pointed some kind of gun at the 60-year-old woman at her home in Isabella County’s Wise Township.  She then agreed to transport them to her friend’s residence in Clare County to get the keys.

A second assault occurred at the woman’s friend’s house, according to police.

They then went back to the Wise Township address, but fled into the woods when police arrived on the scene, according to a release.

The teens were later arrested without incident at an address on Chippewa Road, according to Michigan State Police.  One of them was in possession of an airsoft gun.

The 18-year-old is currently lodged in the Isabella County Jail on charges of resisting and obstructing police and operating in violation of a restricted license.

The juvenile is in an Isabella County juvenile facility on charges of felonious assault, domestic violence,and resisting and obstructing police.

Both suspects lived with their grandma, according to police.  Police did not elaborate on her injuries.
