High Winds, Slick Roads Later Tonight & Friday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb 20, 2014) — Mild temperatures and rain Thursday evening will be replaced by colder temperatures, snow, and very strong winds by Friday morning.

The above image from our in-house computer model, Future Track, shows expected wind speeds and wind gusts by morning. Wind this strong could result in some power outages. In addition, snow will return Friday morning, and the gusty winds will result in some blowing snow.

In addition to the wind and snow, temperatures will be dropping below freezing early Friday morning. Because of the rainfall and the melting snow, there is a lot of standing water on the roads. There will likely be some slick spots on the road Friday morning.
