Man in Critical Condition Following Hit and Run

GR PoliceGRAND RAPIDS, Mich (February 20, 2014) – Detectives with the Grand Rapids Police Special Services Unit continue to search for a driver involved in a serious pedestrian crash early Thursday morning.

Just before 3:00 a.m., a Grand Rapids man was hit in the 2100 block of 28th Street SE while attempted to cross the road.

The vehicle involved, believed to be a Jeep Liberty, was traveling east when the collision occurred and left the scene without stopping continuing eastbound.

Witnesses described the driver as a white male in his 20’s with no facial hair and no glasses.

The man who was hit was transported by ambulance to Saint Mary’s Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.  The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
