GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 23, 2014) — It’s been six months since the sister of singer Al Green went missing. On Sunday, family held a vigil at the place she was last seen.

Maxine Green was reported missing on August 23, 2013, when she didn’t return home to the Shepherds of Independence Living Center to pick up a disability check.

Green’s daughter, Lasha Green, spoke at the vigil and said she will hold a vigil every six months so the community doesn’t forget her mother.

“We’re not gonna stop looking for her,” Lasha said. “When the snow melts, we’re going to continue to do searches and so forth until we find some type of answers. We need closure.”

The vigil was held on Leonard Street next to B and B Party Shoppes, which is the location of the last reported sighting of Green on September 6.

“We want to find out what happened to her,” Lasha said.

Anyone with information on Maxine Green’s disappearance is asked to contact Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
