STANTON, Mich. (Feb. 28, 2014) — Residents in Mecosta County needed to use the cell phones to call 911 in the county Friday.
Calling 911 on a so-called land line, that is, a regular phone, was temporarily impossible, said Emergency Management Coordinator Scott Schroeder.
Using a cell phone to call 911 in Mecosta County did work.
The issue, said Schroeder, seemed to be with the phone service provider, not the county’s facilities.
