SAGINAW, Mich. (March 11, 2014) — The body of missing Saginaw Spirit hockey player Terry Trafford was found Tuesday by Michigan State Police, according to a statement from the team.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the 20-year-old’s body was found in a green truck in the parking lot of a Saginaw Township Walmart. He was last seen at about 9:30 a.m. March 3 at the Dow Event Center, the home arena of the Saginaw Spirit.
Trafford’s cause of death is unknown at this time. However, according to the Free Press, he had been recently sent home for a rules violation for partying on a road trip and had told his girlfriend that he “was devastated” and she said he told her “his life was over and that he didn’t want to do it anymore.”
The Toronto native had not been permanently cut from the team at the time of his disappearance.
