Man Arrested For Driving High On Meth

spangler driving high on meth arrest 3 14 2014COVERT TWP., Mich. (March 14, 2014) — A man from Holland has been arrested after a Van Buren County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled him over and found that he was high on meth.

Police say Thomas Spangler, 27, pulled into a driveway, at 72nd Street and County Road 378, that he didn’t have a lawful reason to be at when the deputy tried to pull him over on March 13, around 4:15 p.m.

Spangler showed signs of being on drugs and after he was asked to perform some tasks to test for intoxication, the deputy found that he was high on meth.

The deputy arrested Spangler and after searching his car, found meth, materials to make a meth lab, marijuana, and 45 caliber ammunition. Police say Spangler admitted to using drugs before getting in his car, which is not properly licensed or insured.

Spangler also had a suspended driver’s license and outstanding warrants with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and the Benton Township Police Department. He faces six charges from this arrest, including operating while intoxicated by methamphetamine, operating/maintaining a methamphetamine lab, no insurance or security on a vehicle, drove while license suspended, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, possession of marijuana.

He was taken to the Van Buren County Jail and the case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office.
