Meth And Guns Discovered In A Home In Comstock Twp.

10PM KALAMAZOO COUNTY METH LAB BUSTS PKG 1COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (March 15, 2014)-  Meth and guns including one assault rifle, were discovered in a residence after a search warrant was executed Friday in Comstock Township.

According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department, on March 12th and 14th deputies conducted an investigation at a residence in the 600 block of N. 33rd Street in Comstock Township after getting reports of meth manufacturing happening at the residence. On March 12th, Kalamazoo County Deputies stopped a vehicle leaving the residence, with two people inside the vehicle. Deputies located meth inside the vehicle. Charges will be brought upon the occupants of the vehicle when the investigation is over.

On March 14th, a search warrant was executed at the residence for this investigation with the assistance of the Kalamazoo Metro SWAT team. When officers made entry into the home, they found an active “one pot” meth lab in the kitchen and several firearms in the living room including a large caliber assault rifle near the front door.  Deputies also discovered components for manufacturing meth, remnants from meth labs and other narcotics were found inside the home.

The 32-year-old suspect living at the home was not there at the time of the search warrant. Deputies state that at least five charges will be brought against the suspect as soon as the case is sent to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office.
