BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (March 18, 2014) — A 59-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested earlier this month after violating the three-minute public comment rule at a township board meeting.

Mark A. Adams was charged Friday, March 14 with a felony resisting and obstructing police charge and a disturbing the peace misdemeanor.

He was arrested March 4 by three officers after violating the three-minute time limit for public comments.  Someone at the board meeting uploaded a video of his arrest to YouTube.

Adams said he handed board members a four-page document with 21 grievances against township and other government officials prior to speaking. Among those grievances are allegations that the board violated the state open meetings act and Freedom of Information Act.

Licht claims that Adams has had issues with the township for years regarding land he owns and compliance with township ordinances, according to MLive.
