Denise Carey, Byron Township
BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (March 27, 2014) — A missing Kent County woman who lives with dementia has been located in adjacent Ottawa County.
Denise Marie Carey, 60, was reported missing Thursday, said the Kent County Sheriff’s Department. Carey left her home in the 8400 block of Elkwood Dr. SW, Byron Township, on foot heading in an unknown direction at about 5 p.m.
Late Thursday evening, just before midnight, the sheriff’s department said Carey was located after police agencies activated ‘The Child is Missing’ phone tree. The alert contacts citizens living in the area of the scene asking for information and to advise of the situation. She was located in nearby Jamestown Township.
Investigators said Carey is in good health and was returned home.
