GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (March 29, 2014) – Michigan State Police say a 42-year-old woman from the Lowell area was killed in a crash Saturday just before 3:00 a.m.

The crash happened on I-96 just east of the East Beltline.

MSP says the woman was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am when she sideswiped a semi at a high rate of speed.

The woman was ejected from the car, which rolled several times. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
