LANSING, Mich. (April 1, 2014) — Governor Rick Snyder’s proposed ‘Healthy Michigan’ plan — which is a unique take on Medicaid expansion — kicks off on Tuesday, extending publicly-funded health care coverage to 470,000 people in the state.

According to the official website, “…thousands more people will be able to afford health care coverage which means more people will be preventing illnesses and getting healthy.”

The plan was approved at a federal level at the end of 2013.
