Notice of when the project begins has appeared on the MiDrive map posted online by the Michigan Department of Transportation. The post says the project, and accompanying lane closures, will begin May 27.

MDOT will reconstruct 6.6 miles of pavement on one side of the expressway, with all traffic using crossovers at each end of the project and one lane available in each direction in the construction zone.

Some ramp closures at the M-40 exit can be expected, and ramps there will be reconfigured.

The project will continue until about October 1.
