Manchester United, Real Madrid To Play At Michigan Stadium

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (April 4, 2014) — Two of the world’s greatest soccer franchises will meet at one of America’s most revered football stadiums this summer.

England’s Manchester United and Spain’s Real Madrid will play at Michigan Stadium on August 2 as part of the Guinness International Champions Cup.

The two teams have won a combined 52 league titles (Manchester United plays in the English Premier League and Real Madrid plays in La Liga; both are considered two of the best leagues in the world) and 12 UEFA Champions League titles (Europe’s top in-season tournament.)

Manchester United features Wayne Rooney, one of the top goal scorers in the world in the last 10 years. Real Madrid counters with Cristiano Ronaldo, a former United player and the reigning FIFA Ballon d’Or winner, given to the top player in the world.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 10.
