Evenflo car seat 2WASHINGTON D.C. (April 5, 2014)- Evenflo Company announced on Friday that they are recalling 1.37 million child seats to replace buckles that can get stuck.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminsitration, the recall was announced because in case of an emergency it would be difficult to remove the child from the seat increasing the risk of injury, in the event of an emergency which requires a quick exit from the vehicle.

Evenflo states that the recalled models use a harness crotch buckle that may become resistant to unlatching over time, due to food or drink spilled on the latch.

The recall covers the Momentum 65 (including LX and DLX), Chase (including LX, DLX, and Select), Maestro (including Performance), Symphony (including 65, LX, 65 E3, and DLX), Snugli All-In-One, Snugli Booster, Titan 65, SureRide DLX, and Secure Kid (including LX, DLX, 100, 300, and 400).

Evenflo will notify registered owners in April 2014. The company will start providing replacement buckles along with installation instructions in April 2014. Owners may contact Evenflo at 1-800-490-7591 or online at http://www.buckle.evenflo.com.
