EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (April 9, 2014) — More than 1,800 people in the Gaslight Village are without power Wednesday after a crane reportedly fell over and took down several lines.
East Grand Rapids Public Safety officials and Consumers Energy crews are in the area of Reeds Lake Boulevard near Lakeside Drive.
A Consumers Energy representative said a crane was being operated in the area just before 4:30 p.m. and took out several power lines and poles when it fell over.
Their representative said the crane was not associated with Consumers Energy.
Crews expect to have power restored between 7:30 and 8 p.m., the representative said.
