EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (April 10, 2014) – Lakeside Drive will be closed between Wealthy Street and Reeds Lake Boulevard until possibly as late as Friday afternoon due to a utility pole that was accidentally brought down Wednesday.
A crane being operated in the area fell over, damaged an SUV parked in a lot, and left hundreds of customers without power for a time in the Gaslight Village area.
The city issued a statement on its Facebook page that said Lakeside Drive would be closed at least until Friday morning, but repairs might take until Friday afternoon.
Residents were asked to avoid walking on Lakeside Drive, along Reeds Lake Trail, and in Waterfront Park because power lines were down and large equipment was being used for the necessary repairs.
