OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (April 11, 2014) — A 52-year-old Jenison man was arrested Friday after allegedly robbing the Community West Credit Union in Hudsonville.

The robbery happened at approximately 10:14 a.m., according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.   Employees told police the man entered the building dressed in women’s clothing, robbed the credit union of an undisclosed amount of money and fled on a motorcycle heading south.

At about 10:30 a.m., deputies say they located the man driving in the area of Port Sheldon and 88th Avenue in Blendon Township.  They said he dumped a blonde wig sometime during the pursuit.

Authorities continued to chase the suspect as he headed northbound on 96th Avenue, eventually turning east on Filmore.

As he attempted to change directions to head west on Filmore, deputies said he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

He was taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.  Deputies said they recovered evidence linking him to the robbery.

He will be identified pending formal arraignment.
