MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. – Criminal warrants for retail fraud will be issued Friday for two women along the lakeshore who are suspected of shoplifting with their children by their sides.

Both suspects were identified just minutes after police sent surveillance photos to the media on Friday, April 4th.  A news release from that day stated, “The Norton Shores Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to identify two females suspected of shoplifting from Kohl’s, 5695 Harvey St, on March 26, 2014. The suspects are believed to have stolen just under $1000 worth of merchandise.”

On Friday, The Norton Shores Police Department provided more information about the women who will be charged sometime next week.

The first suspect is a 29-year-old from Muskegon, said police.  She had her two-year-old and six-year-old children with her.  Investigators say the second suspect is a 25-year-old woman from Spring Lake who was with her six-year-old child.  The suspects’ names will not be released until they are formally arraigned.

“Much of the stolen property was recovered; however, there are several items not accounted for,” said Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw.
