Eric PickettMUSKEGON, Mich. (April 15, 2014) — A Muskegon prisoner was recently charged after allegedly groping a food-service worker at Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility back in January.

Eric Montez Pickett, 25, was arraigned Friday on a charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving force or coercion, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Tim Maat.

Maat said that Pickett walked up behind the food-service worker while she was walking down a hallway and groped her on her genital area and other places.   Pickett worked in the kitchen while at Brooks.

He faces up to 15 years for the Jan. 14 incident because he is a fourth-time habitual offender, according to Maat.  He is currently serving a four to 15 year sentence for a 2010 armed robbery in Detroit.

After the alleged incident he was transferred to Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee, Maat said.
