Wanted: Man in Connection to Suspicious Death in Trailer
KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Township Police Department needs your help finding a man in connection to the ‘suspicious’ death at a mobile home park as detectives release the name of another man found dead.
Investigators would like to speak with 28-year-old Timothy Joe Salo of Kalamazoo, the resident of the mobile home.
At 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Kalamazoo County central dispatch received a report of a gunshot victim, identified Friday as 29-year-old Jason Lee Vanostran of Kalamazoo.
His body was found in a home at the Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park, located at 1519 Olmstead Road in Kalamazoo Township.
The caller said the information came from a third person and the caller didn’t have direct knowledge of the situation at the mobile home.
Dispatchers sent Kalamazoo Township Police Department officers and Pride Care EMS to the park. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Vanostran dead with a gunshot wound.
Investigators believe Salo was present when the shooting happened but are not calling him a suspect in the case.
Salo is desribed as as a white male, 5’11″, 185 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes. He has a number of tattoos including a tear drop under his left eye, symbols on the left side of his neck and his last name on his back.
According to Salo’s Facebook page, he used to live in Ionia. FOX 17 checked with the Michigan Department of Corrections. He was charged in May 2013 for unlawful use of a motor vehicle. In July 2012, he was charged with arson – woods and prairies. He was released in May 2013.
On Thursday, police told FOX 17 News that the death was “suspicious.”
Officers remained on the scene investigating for several hours until later Thursday evening.
