COLUMBUS, Ind. — A missing 27-year-old Kalamazoo kayaker’s body was discovered Monday afternoon in the Flat Rock River.

According to FOX 17 NEWS affiliate FOX 59 in Indianapolis, Indiana Department of Natural Resources officers said that a passerby found a shoe under a tree about 150 yards from where Enrique Quinonez disappeared April 6. The passerby contacted the DNR and Quinonez’s body was discovered and removed from the water at about 3 p.m. Monday.
Quinonez was kayaking with a friend when he disappeared more than two weeks ago. Authorities spent several days searching for him.
Relatives have been notified. An autopsy will be performed.
