19-year-old Zachary Allen Bird was questioned by deputies after one of his relatives called police saying that he wasn’t wanted at a home on Evergreen Street in Sheridan on Sunday.  Deputies say they found him in possession of a firearm and several other items that didn’t belong to him.

A short time after making contact with Bird, deputies were alerted to a home invasion in the 200 block of Grant Street in Sheridan.  A neighbor in the area called police after noticing a door was open at a nearby home that he’d been asked to watch.

Deputies later determined the gun and other items in Bird’s possession were stolen during the home invasion on Grant Street.

Bird is being held at the Montcalm County Jail on $50,000 bond.
