GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (April 23, 2014) — Police in Grand Rapids are looking for the man who they believe is responsible for a recent string of armed robberies in the city.

We are told that three recent incidents share similar features, especially where the suspect is concerned.  This week, a man wearing dark clothing and a black mask over his face, has walked in to three businesses, where he then pulls out a handgun.

The first incident happened at the Chicken Coop on S. Division late Monday night.  Police say the man failed to obtain any money, in what they describe was an attempted armed robbery.

The second incident occurred just hours later early Tuesday morning, at the 7-Eleven located at 1001 W. Fulton.  The masked suspect flashed a handgun and ran off with an unknown amount of cash.

It was the same scenario at the BP Gas Station at 1639 Leonard St. NW late Tuesday night.  A masked suspect walks in, brandishes a gun, and leaves with an unspecified amount of money.

Given the similarities, police believe these are all connected.  Anyone who has information is asked to call GRPD at 616-456-3400.
