Battle Creek Police Surround Mobile Home Park

bedford hillsBATTLE CREEK, Mich. – (April 25, 2014) – Battle Creek Police surrounded part of the Bedford Hills mobile home park on M-37, north of Urbandale, after a man threatened to harm himself.

The following is information from the Battle Creek Police Department:

Battle Creek Police responded to the Bedford Hills Trailer park at 9:18 a.m. this date for a distrought/suicidal subject. Information was recieved from a retaltive who reported a 33 year old male resident made threats to harm himself and was armed with a rifle. Several attempts were made to call inside his residence with no answer. Members from the Battle Creek Police Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiator responded to the scene. The Negotiator was able to get the subject on the phone and talked him into stepping outside without the weapon at which time he was taken into custody without incident. The subject was then transported to the Battle Creek Health Sytem for evaluation. No criminal charges pending.
